The msdxr R package provides tools for reading and exploring GC/MS data stored in the proprietary MSDX format used by Chromatec instruments. It implements a custom parser based on empirical reconstruction of the file format, enabling users to import raw data, inspect individual mass spectra, and extract total ion and extracted ion chromatograms directly in R. The package supports the integration of MSDX data into reproducible analytical workflows.
